Salary: The starting salary is £63,409, which includes allowances totalling £3,009. The salary is broken down as £60,400 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £65,886. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

As Technical Project Manager, you’ll play a crucial part in protecting London by managing a team of multi-disciplinary technical specialists. You will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of small to medium scale technology projects that directly support frontline policing and corporate operational outcomes. Working with the Head of Infrastructure and other Technical Leads, you will be responsible for ensuring that solutions are operationally effective, secure, ethical, and delivered to a high professional standard, in line with the New Met for London operating model.

You will need to manage the full project lifecycle—from concept definition and requirements capture through design, delivery, testing, deployment, and post implementation review. Projects may include software development, hardware engineering, system integration, deployment of off the shelf technologies, and the development of bespoke technical solutions to meet policing needs.

The role combines clear leadership responsibility with technical and delivery assurance, ensuring risks are understood, benefits are realised, and outputs inspire confidence from operational stakeholders and senior leaders.
