Job Summary
In Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) we continually seek ways to be more effective on a national scale. As a Performance Analyst you will be at the heart of our Strategy, Planning and Performance (SPP) team, working closely with CTP colleagues across the network to develop effective strategies, policies and plans, drive performance insights, and support senior decision‑making. CTPHQ’s SPP Directorate is a hybrid of police staff and civil servants. The team is skilled, inclusive, and the ideal place for existing or aspiring professionals to make a real difference and develop a career in an operational policing environment. This role offers unique exposure to the national CT Policing Network, wider policing, the UK Intelligence Community (UKIC) and Whitehall departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Higher Performance Analysts in assessing how effectively the UK Counter Terrorism Policing Network delivers expected services.
- Use analytical findings to identify trends, forecast future implications and highlight performance areas to senior stakeholders within police, security services and government.
- Analyse performance information using IT packages, particularly Excel, and produce performance reports.
- Interpret a wide range of information and create meaningful reports to aid senior decision‑making up to ministerial level.
- Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of customers and stakeholders across the UK Counter Terrorism Network.
- Develop and evaluate meaningful indicators and assessments relevant to counter terrorism policing in collaboration with senior managers, practitioners and subject‑matter experts.
- Develop and maintain processes for receiving, storing and organising information to promote effective analysis.
- Undertake data/information audits to ensure compliance with standards for consistency and accuracy.
- Design and implement data collection and collation strategies to obtain data/information from multiple groups.
- Ensure products and documentation comply with MPS policies and legal obligations such as FOIA and the Data Protection Act.
- Manage customer relationships and requests for ad‑hoc and regular reporting.
- Manage own workload and escalations within the team when appropriate.
- Be willing to travel/work flexibly across London locations, primarily Thames House, New Scotland Yard and Empress State Building.
