Key Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient roadside repair, maintenance, and recovery services for a varied fleet of specialist vehicles, responding to calls and operating breakdown patrol vehicles.
- Determine serviceability of all vehicle components (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) using industry‑recognised tools and equipment.
- Visually inspect, road‑test vehicles and interpret feedback, diagnose electrical faults with high and low technology test equipment, and record measurements and data in technical reports.
- Maintain stock levels to ensure timely delivery of services and reduce recoveries or workshop visits.
- Follow manufacturer warranty processes and repair instructions, reading wiring diagrams and using interactive diagnostic tools.
- Coordinate with workshop teams to align roadside repair activity with detailed repair work for high first‑time fix rates.
- Stay updated on latest vehicle repair and maintenance advances; undertake personal development and keep current with standards and legislation.
- Transfer knowledge and skills to less technical staff and apprentices.
