Contract and Hours: Permanent full-time, 36 hours per week.
Salary: Starting salary is £48,995, including allowances totalling £3,009. Basic salary is £45,986, with annual increases up to £54,863. Includes a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality training and facilitation as part of the Met’s Leadership Academy team within Learning and Development.
- Lead the delivery of leadership programmes to officers and Police Staff equivalent grades.
- Design, develop and iterate content for leadership programmes at all levels, from first-line leaders to senior/strategic leaders.
- Build internal facilitation capability and support the growth of senior facilitators.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure programmes meet the needs of practitioners and support the Met’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with participants at all levels.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently, managing assignments and adapting to changes.
- Confidence to deliver new ideas, ensuring training is consistently delivered as planned.
- Extensive experience delivering training programmes to delegates or students.
- Experience in a law enforcement environment or a clear understanding of the work of law enforcement.
- Level 4 education/training qualification, College of Policing Trainer Essentials Programme, or equivalent experience (essential).
- Proficiency in using a range of delivery aids and facilitation methodologies such as PowerPoint.
- Professional or coaching qualifications are an asset.

Location and Working Hours:
Courses are delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00 generally. Locations include MPS estate sites such as Senate House, Peel Centre Hendon, NSY and Marlowe House, as well the external estate. Flexibility is essential to meet the criteria of the role as and when required.
