Job Title: Information Officer - Police Staff - Compliance and Assurance - CTPHQ
Salary: The starting salary is £36,228, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £33,219 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £35,541. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
Information compliance is essential in ensuring that we protect sensitive police information, yet still also allow the public to understand theimportant rolethat Met Police officers and staff play in protecting our communities.
This isan exciting opportunity to enhance a newly created rolewithin the Information Access Team (IAT)in the Compliance and Assurance (C&A) Pillar within Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ).
The Unit manages Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. There is also a requirement toassistwithRightof Access Request (ROAR) / Subject Access Requests (SAR) queries. Our remit encompasses the Met’s Specialist Operations (SO) Command Units - Aviation Policing, CTPL,PaDP,RaSPand Protective Security & Operations, but may also include other MPS units, as well as the CT Policing Network.
Your primary role as part of the team will be to providevital administrative supportto the Senior and Information Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of these requestsallowingstatutory deadlinesto bemet. This will entail liaising regularly with these SO units and providing advice and guidance to ensure compliance, where necessary
Therefore, it is expected that you will have agoodunderstanding of these Acts and the General DataProtection Regulations (GDPR).
This positionprovides a unique opportunity for the role holderto gain experience of SO and the wider CT Policing Networkand alsoliaise with our external stakeholders. You will work closely with staff of all ranks and grades, in a fast-paced environment with good development prospects.
Key Tasks
- Ensurethe FOIA and ROAR Excel databases are uptodateand all requests are recorded andresponded to within the giventimeframe
- Monitorthe unit mailbox to ensure requests areactionedpromptly.
- Validaterequests by assessmentagainstlegal requirements.
- Identifyrequests, which may require an early resolution/completion.
- Conductprior research on theCycFreedomdatabase or throughweb basedsearches for information that is already in the public domain.
- Liaisewith applicants in writing and recording on the relevant systems.
- Followup requests to ensureinformationsoughtis received within the specifiedtimeframe.
- Act as apointof contact for stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Respond to queries or escalating where necessary.
- Provideguidance on FOIA and ROARs to officers and staff with supportofline management.
- Assistwith the collation and preparation of historical records and files
- Arrange the team’smeetings and complete the minutes.

Additional Information
This role does not attract Shift Disturbance Allowance. If you are currently in a shift-working role, SDA should cease upon appointment to this job.
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Security Check (enhanced)(SC(e)) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible)and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Experience
Recentexperience in an administrator role,managingconflicting prioritiesin a deadline drivenenvironmentand completing minutes for meetings.

- Understanding of CTP Network/Specialist Operations
- Knowledge of MPS units and who to contactto obtain relevant information
- Knowledge of MPSsystems i.e.CONNNECT,CRIS,CRIMINT, IIPetc.
