Deputy Director of Workplace Services

The Metropolitan Police Service is seeking an exceptional leader to join its Property Services Directorate as Deputy Director Workplace Services.

Reporting to the Director of Property Services, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of facilities management, estate and asset management, specialist real estate functions, and major outsourced service contracts that support policing across London.

As Deputy Director of Workplace Services, you will ensure that our estate remains safe, compliant, resilient and operationally effective, while driving value, innovation and continuous improvement across a predominantly outsourced service delivery model. You will play a key role in shaping and implementing future workplace and estate service strategies, including leading the transition from existing PFI arrangements.

The role will champion the development of a best-in-class facilities management function and build strong partnerships with senior internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and public sector partners.

We are looking for an inclusive and collaborative leader with significant experience of operating at a senior level in estates, facilities management, or property services. Proven track record of managing major outsourced contracts with strong commercial, financial and strategic leadership capability will be essential in the role. Experience of delivering organisational change while maintaining operational performance is key.

A professional qualification or chartered status in a relevant discipline, or equivalent senior-level expertise is required.

Location: The PSD bases are Marlowe House (Sidcup) and Hendon but these roles will need to be across the estate and will spend time at New Scotland Yard. MPS offer hybrid working; therefore, you would be expected to be on site across the above-mentioned locations circa 3 days a week, based on the demands of the role.

Salary: The successful candidate will receive a basic salary in excess of £100,000. For candidates with exceptional and highly relevant knowledge, skills, and experience, in addition to base salary consideration may be given to a non-pensionable market allowance.

Security Clearance: Appointment is subject to the successful completion of Metropolitan Police Service vetting requirements.
