Overview
The Metropolitan Police Service Economic Crime (EC) Command is part of Central Specialist Crime and specialises in the investigation of fraud and money laundering offences and the conduct of financial investigations. EC has a wide range of strands as it tackles serious offenders and prevents them gaining financially from their crimes. It also manages a wide range of investigations, including sensitive, high‑profile enquiries that span national and international boundaries. This is a unique opportunity for Financial Investigators to join the newly formed BCU Payback Units and have a positive impact on taking the profit out of crime while making London and the public safer.
Responsibilities
- Maintain FI/FIO accreditation as per the Proceeds of Crime Centre requirements.
- Complete CRiSP training to become accredited in Part 5 powers.
- Investigate allegations of money laundering, tracing assets in the UK and overseas and analysing financial accounts.
