Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer to work as part of a team on technically challenging projects.

As a fast-paced, growing business; this role will be responsible for significantly contributing to projects to deliver excellent service levels to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business, whilst providing sound technical, design and contract management support.

We’re looking for an experienced engineering professional to lead projects and provide sound technical, design and contract management support on electrical building services engineering disciplines, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met.

Key responsibilities

  • Contributing to the team to ensure successful preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support
  • Compiling specifications, drawings and relevant Contract documents and maintaining the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
  • Acting as the lead engineer and liaising with the Client and external design team as necessary for the successful delivery of projects
  • Providing electrical building engineering services design to buildings and infrastructure
  • Identifying scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the Change Control Process, maintaining planning and cost control on all scope
  • The delivery of small to large scale projects from concept designs through to completion, executing building services engineering activities within the budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity
  • The successful candidate will have
  • A relevant degree in Electrical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification, or sufficient suitable experience
  • The ability to demonstrate extensive experience of a wide range of technical areas for a variety of projects including multi-residential and commercial developments
  • Contractor and client-side exposure beneficial
  • 5+ years’ experience within an engineering consultancy
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Auto CAD beneficial
  • Experienced with lighting calculation Software packages (e. g. Dia Lux)
  • Experienced with cable calculation tools (e. g. Trimble, Electrical OM)
  • Sound level of knowledge at Senior Engineer level and managing a team
  • Desirable experience of Commercial Office projects
  • Technical Electrical knowledge and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process
  • An appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling in the design of buildings
  • Results orientated individual with strong problem solving, technical realisation and coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Member of an appropriate professional body, such as CIBSE, IET
  • Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status
