Job Summary
To assist with the garage stores operation, complying at all times with health and safety legislation and Metroline's policy statement on health and safety. To ensure that a rapid response is made to requests for stock issues from garages.
Main Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading of deliveries
- Picking stock requested by garage personnel
- Provision of stock and consumables to garage locations
- Identifying parts & sources of supply
- The maintenance of proper stock records including the proper recording of all orders, receipts and issues
- The physical control and security of stocks including reporting and investigating instances of physical stock shortfalls, and abuse
- Liaison with Technical and Purchasing staff to pursue warranty claims and resolve other quality issues
- To ensure all activities within the garage store comply with relevant legislation including the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 1989
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience of working within a parts stores
- A clear appreciation of the consequences of "stockouts" in an internal engineering stores to the smooth running of the business
- Previous exposure to computerised stock control systems and be competent in their application
- Excellent administrative skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office and Excel
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid Fork Lift Truck Licence
