We’re Metroline Manchester, the newest addition to Bee Network, buzzing in Greater Manchester since January 2025.
Back in March 2024, we were thrilled to have won four franchise contracts by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) – and just like that, we got to work bringing our services to life. We now operate over 200 routes on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) from Hyde Road (Head Office), Tameside, Sharston and Wythenshawe depots.
But who are we, really?
Well, our roots go back to 1994 when Metroline first hit the roads of London. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to be the second largest bus operator in the capital, running around 17% of the city’s scheduled services. Not too shabby, right?
Since 2000, we’ve been part of the global transport powerhouse ComfortDelGro, which operates in 13 countries with a fleet of over 54,000 vehicles and a team of 24,000+ colleagues worldwide.
Here in the UK, our 6,000-strong team helps over one million customers get where they need to go every single day – and now, we’re doing it in Manchester too!
Job Summary
Location: Wythenshawe
Hours: permanent contract 40 hours per week, rotating shifts 5 days over 7
Pay: £14.03 per hour

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering an excellent service for colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider Greater Manchester community. Responding proactively and appropriately to the requirements of the depot management team with a natural flair of providing support and guidance and going ‘the extra mile ’.
As a Cleaner within our Engineering department you will have the following responsibilities:
- Keeping the relevant work area clean and tidy and to clean up spillages in accordance with Metroline’s Health and Safety policy and procedure
- Washing exterior of all buses by use of automatic bus wash and to wash wheels and skirt panels by hand
- M aintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles to a high standard using mechanical, electrical and manual cleaning equipment
- Maintaining records and documents up to date as required by Metroline

- Cleaning techniques including the safe use of mechanical and manual equipment
- An understanding of relevant safe working practices as required by COSHH regulations including the safe storage and disposal of highly corrosive and toxic materials
- An understanding of the standards required by Metroline Manchester
- The post holder should possess or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification (e.g. NVQ level 1)
- A driving licence (preferably PCV) would be desirable or willingness to obtain
