We’re Metroline Manchester, the newest addition to the Bee Network, buzzing in Greater Manchester since January 2025! We now operate over 200 routes on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) from Hyde Road (Head Office), Tameside, Sharston and Wythenshawe depots.

This is a great opportunity for someone to join a fantastic working environment as part of the Engineering dream team and partnering with the wider team at our Tameside depot. This role is perfect for someone looking to work part time 20 hours per week around other commitments such as education and childcare, with some flexibility around start and finish times.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering an excellent service for colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider Greater Manchester community. Responding proactively and appropriately to the requirements of the depot management team with a natural flair of providing support and guidance and going ‘the extra mile’.

As a Bus Cleaner within our Engineering department you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Keeping the relevant work area clean and tidy and to clean up spillages in accordance with Metroline’s Health and Safety policy and procedure.
  • Washing exterior of all buses by use of automatic bus wash and to wash wheels and skirt panels by hand.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles to a high standard using mechanical, electrical and manual cleaning equipment.
  • Maintaining records and documents up to date as required by Metroline.

The post holder should possess or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification (e.g. NVQ level 1). A driving licence (preferably PCV) would be desirable or willingness to obtain.

Hours of Work: Permanent part time contract – 20 hours per week (4 hours per day Monday to Friday).
