Metro Supply Chain UK is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our friendly team in Snetterton, Norfolk. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, you'll lead a small team of up to three colleagues, helping to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate delivery of day-to-day warehouse operations. We're keen to hear from candidates with solid warehousing or logistics experience who are ready to take the next step into leadership, as well as those who already have supervisory experience and are looking for a new challenge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Within the role, the following are the kinds of tasks and responsibilities that will be included:
- Provide first-line management and day-to-day leadership for the operational team.
- Act as the senior Metro Supply Chain representative on the warehouse floor.
- Train and support the development of team members in line with job descriptions, competency frameworks and skills matrices.
- Provide management cover in the absence of the Operations Manager when required.
- Ensure all operational activities, including goods intake, put-away, picking, packing, labelling and despatch, are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor and manage team productivity and accuracy in line with customer requirements and service level agreements.
- Optimise the utilisation of labour, equipment and operational resources.
- Ensure stock records are maintained accurately and remain up to date.
- Understand upcoming operational requirements and ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet demand.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the operation.
- Partner with managers and supervisors to implement health and safety best practice, investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) inspections are completed before use.
- To ensure all staff follow work instructions provided, complying with our ISO UKAS certified standards ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- To communicate any non-conformances within the ISO UKAS certified management system.
- To raise any upcoming changes which could affect the ISO UKAS certified management system.
- To follow environmental policies and procedures and highlight any risks to personnel or the environment.
- To ensure compliance with legislative bodies and local authorities.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and challenges.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Build effective relationships with customer and supplier representatives to support operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to understand priorities, requirements and expectations.
- Produce regular operational reports, statistics and performance information as required.
- Communicate operational updates, issues and priorities effectively across the team and wider business.
- As a team member, work collaboratively with Metro employees in a team-oriented environment.
- Have an exceptional customer service attitude.

- Promote and support social initiatives driven by other team members.
- Follow established processes and, where applicable, help achieve customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

We'd love to hear from candidates who have experience within a warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment and are comfortable using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach are essential. This role would suit either someone looking to take their first step into leadership, or an existing Supervisor seeking a new opportunity. While not essential, MHE licences (such as Counterbalance or Reach Truck), IOSH certification, First Aid and Fire Marshal qualifications would be advantageous.
