Metro Supply Chain UK are looking for a Warehouse Administrator to join our friendly team in Sudbury, Suffolk. Within this important customer-facing role, you will work with the orders within our stock system, ensuring that things are in order for our client. This isn't the kind of admin role where you answer calls and emails; it's a data-driven, technical role. Strong data skills are required, and a background in logistics is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with suppliers in line with warehousing requirements such as parcel carriers, transport providers etc.
- Produce specific reports as required by line manager.
- Record daily dispatch information as per Customer requirements.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- Understand the company’s business goals and support them.
- Make a difference to the customer, delivering high levels of service with minimal supervision.
- Respond to customer telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Respond to customer e-mails professionally and proficiently.
- Provide customers with information relating to their requests in relation to the warehousing and dispatch of their products.
- Follow Metro Supply Chain / specific customer complaints procedure.
- Understand specific customer requirements and action accordingly.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to tasks and workload.
- Manage time proficiently to meet customer / stakeholder requirements.
- Carry out a variety of different customer requirements across closed and open book accounts.
- Update and complete customer online portals where necessary.
- Support other staff members where their knowledge or skills are more limited.
EXPERIENCE:
We're looking for someone who is confident working with data and comfortable using computer systems to manage information accurately. Experience in a warehouse, logistics or stock control environment would be beneficial, but it's not essential. We'd also welcome applications from candidates with experience in administration, customer service, manufacturing, retail or other roles where accuracy, organisation and attention to detail are important. Most importantly, you'll be a strong communicator, keen to learn, and able to manage your workload effectively in a busy environment.
