We have a new Team Leader role within our Sudbury site! This important role supports our team there to ensure we deliver the best service possible to our clients. This role is 6pm-6am, 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Within the role, the following are the kinds of tasks and responsibilities that will be included:
- Work with the Supervisor in order to understand their requirements and expectations and act as the senior Metro Supply Chain staff on the shop floor.
- Understand our customers’ issues and help drive business improvements.
- Support the managers and other supervisors in their roles.
- To support personal development, motivate staff within the framework of Job Descriptions.
- Optimise the utilisation of all assets across the operations.
- Ensure that all staff on site operate within all current legislation.
- Work with Managers and/or Supervisors to ensure H&S management best practice is applied, and investigations.
- Ensure staff act and conduct themselves in a safe manner in accordance with H&S Guidelines.
- Ensure site housekeeping is carried out regularly.
- Ensure MHE is checked daily before use.
- Support the team to ensure that stock records are kept accurate and up to date.
- Ensure operational activities (intake, put away, pick, pack, label, despatch) are conducted in an accurate and timely manner.
- Monitor and manage staff productivity and accuracy in line with customer requirements.
- Understand the required labour needed to complete daily activities and ensure that the resource is in place to achieve them.
- Cover for the Supervisor as required.
- For applicable sites: Ensure all staff follow work instructions provided, complying with our ISO accredited standards ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- Communicate any non-conformances within the ISO accredited management system.
- Raise any upcoming changes which could affect the ISO accredited management system.
- Follow environmental policies and procedures and highlight any risks to personnel or the environment.
- Ensure compliance with legislative bodies and local authorities.
Without compromise maintain a safe and clean work environment. Report any hazards in the workplace to management immediately. Complete all training provided in a timely manner. Follow all laws and policies applicable.
EXPERIENCE:With excellent communication skills, the Team Leader will have strong attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and be able to demonstrate good leadership skills.
