About Metro Rod: Metro Rod works with various clients in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services across the UK.
What does it entail? Your communication skills will ensure that customers end their experience of the company’s service feeling delighted and willing to recommend you to others. You must be used to working in a similar position within the industry and will therefore understand the requirements and constraints placed upon this role both in terms of Health & Safety, and customers’ expectations. You will also understand the need to maintain an accurate and detailed documentation trail.
Responsibilities:
- Operating a variety of tanker units and carrying out a range of services associated with the tankers: cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of our customer’s drains.
- Predominantly carrying out pre‑planned maintenance works and, in some cases, emergency reactive work.
- Operating high‑pressure water jetting equipment in line with rigorous safety standards.
- Carrying out surveys.
- Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise.
- Accurately recording work/job details via bespoke internal/client systems and apps.
- Communicating effectively with high‑profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided.
What are we looking for?
- HGV Class 2 licence.
- High-pressure water jetting and CCTV surveying qualifications or equivalent experience (preferable).
- Excellent problem‑solving ability with sound technical knowledge.
- A positive, flexible, can‑do attitude.
- Willingness to work some unsociable hours.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good level of literacy and numeracy.
