Location: Central Gloucester. Salary: £35,000 plus overtime, on‑call & benefits (OTE up to 45K).
Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We’ve been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction.

What does it entail?
- Responding to reactive drainage issues (blockages, backups, faults)
- High‑pressure water jetting and drain clearance
- CCTV surveys and fault diagnosis
- Carrying out repairs, excavations, and small civils works
- Installing and replacing drainage systems
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
- Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications
- Communicating effectively with high‑profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service at all times
What experience do we look for?
- Proven experience in reactive drainage and civils/drainage repairs
- Strong knowledge of drainage systems and fault finding
- Experience with excavation and reinstatement works
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Streetworks (NRSWA) and/or confined space training (desirable)
- Must live in the GL area
- This role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check
