Metro Rod works with major companies in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. We’ve been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction.
The role itself will provide a wide range of emergency and contracted services to both commercial and domestic customers, centralised around our local centre here in Cramlington.
What’s involved?
- Carry out a range of services associated with our emergency services offering, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation and maintenance of our customer’s assets new and old.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and technical expertise.
- Operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of company service, vehicles and equipment.
- Accurately record completed work details via internal and client systems.
- Communicate effectively to ensure an excellent service is provided at all times.
- Have a positive and helpful can-do attitude.
- Cover normal working hours and “on call” out-of-hours on a rota basis and have a flexible attitude to covering emergency situations when called upon outside of these periods.
Qualifications:
- HPWJ, Confined Spaces, Street-works including a CSCS card (any/all would be advantageous but are not essential as full training is on offer).
- Hold a full driving licence.

- Suitable candidates will be able to display a great working attitude together with skills pertaining to the clearance, cleaning and repair of both internal small bore and external drainage systems.
- Experience in commercial & domestic drainage is essential.
- Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining.
- Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS.
- Experience with CCTV surveys and lining is an advantage.
- Must have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude.
