Job Overview

We are seeking a General Assistant to support our Drainage Engineers and Tanker Drivers. This role provides training to progress into a Drainage Engineer position over 6‑12 months and is ideal for individuals with a civil/ground working background.

Responsibilities

  • Support Engineers in cleaning, clearing, repairing, and maintaining customers’ drains.
  • Deliver an exceptional standard of customer service.
  • Work in accordance with health & safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent service at all times.

Qualifications

  • Positive, flexible, can‑do attitude.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
  • Interest and desire to progress within the drainage industry.
  • Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 2 drainage or equivalent.
  • Full clean UK driving licence and own vehicle.
