Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We’ve been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction.
What’s involved?
- Operating a variety of tanker units, you will carry out a range of services associated with the tankers, cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of our customers’ drains, whilst delivering an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise.
- Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains.
- Operation of high‑pressure water jetting equipment in line with rigorous safety standards.
- Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise.
- Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps.
- Communicate effectively with high‑profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided.
What do we look for?
- Experience in tanker jetting is essential.
- Clean HGV license.
- Confined space preferable.
- High‑pressure water jetting experience.
- CSCS preferable.
- Will have a positive, flexible, can‑do attitude and willing to work additional hours as needed.

- Be willing to work occasional / unsociable hours.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Candidates are asked to consider their home location as the tankers are garaged at Wigan and you will need to consider any travel to and from this site in your decision.
