We are a fast‑growing and dynamic business and part of an ever‑expanding group – Franchise Brands. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis.
This is a varied, hands‑on role for someone who thrives in both reactive drainage work and planned civils projects. If you enjoy problem‑solving on‑site and want to be part of a supportive, fast‑paced business, we want to hear from you!
What does it entail?
- Responding to reactive drainage issues (blockages, backups, faults)
- High‑pressure water jetting and drain clearance
- CCTV surveys and fault diagnosis
- Carrying out repairs, excavations and small civils works
- Installing and replacing drainage systems
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
- Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications
- Communicating effectively with high‑profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service at all times
What experience do we look for?
- Proven experience in reactive drainage and civils/drainage repairs
- Strong knowledge of drainage systems and fault finding
- Experience with excavation and reinstatement works
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Streetworks (NRSWA) and/or confined space training (desirable)
- Must live in the GL area
- This role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check
