Full time permanent. Salary £30,000 - £42,000 + on-call, overtime & benefits.

Metro Rod works with the likes of Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Despite having been around for over 40 years, we are a fast‑growing and dynamic business and part of an ever‑expanding group called Franchise Brands.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We’ve cleared and unblocked drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, there are also Willow Pumps and Filta, two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one‑stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

What’s involved?

  • Carry out a range of services associated with our emergency services offering, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation and maintenance of our customer’s assets new and old.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and technical expertise.
  • Operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of company service, vehicles and equipment.
  • Accurately record completed work details via internal and client systems.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure an excellent service is provided at all times.
  • Have a positive and helpful can‑do attitude.
  • Cover normal working hours and “on call” out‑of‑hours on a rota basis and have a flexible attitude to covering emergency situations when called upon outside of these periods.

What do we look for?

  • Experience in commercial & domestic drainage is essential.
  • Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining.
  • Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS.
  • Experience with CCTV surveys and lining is an advantage.
  • Will have a positive, flexible, can‑do attitude.

  • Be willing to work occasional/unsociable hours.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence – must be over 21 for insurance purposes.
  • Must live in the postcode areas noted above.
