Metro Rod Oxford is seeking a Drainage Engineer in the Cheltenham area with a salary of £27,000 - £29,000 DOE plus commission, on-call & overtime (circa £1000 per month). We work with major companies in various sectors including FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial, and Leisure.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services. We have over 60 franchisees across the UK, providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of our customers’ drains.
  • Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards.
  • Carrying out surveys.
  • Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise.
  • Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications.
  • Communicating effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times.
  • Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.

What experience do we look for?

  • High pressure water jetting and confined spaces experience.
  • Surveying experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in domestic & commercial drainage.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with sound technical knowledge.
  • Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Want to be part of a growing and progressive business.
  • Be willing to work some unsociable hours.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Must live in the Cheltenham area.
