Job Description
As an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager, you'll be at the heart of our management team, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy pub while taking ownership of the bar operation. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll lead from the front, creating memorable customer experiences, driving wet sales, and developing a high-performing team.
Qualifications
What you'll do as an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager...
- Support the General Manager in all aspects of running the business, taking responsibility for the pub in their absence.
- Lead and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional service and maximise sales opportunities.
- Take ownership of stock control, ordering, wastage management and bar profitability.
- Support recruitment, training, coaching and performance management across the wider pub team.
- Drive operational excellence across both front-of-house and bar operations.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, licensing requirements, health & safety and food safety procedures.
- Contribute to labour management, shift planning and achieving business KPIs.
What you'll bring...
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Bar Manager or Supervisor within a busy hospitality environment.
- A passion for delivering amazing customer experiences and creating memorable occasions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Experience managing stock, ordering and controlling waste and costs.
- The ability to think on your feet and adapt to challenges during busy service periods.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of drinks, cocktails and premium products would be advantageous.
- Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
