Permanent Salary – £36,000 – £40,000 + benefits & overtime
Core hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am – 4:30pm; Fridays 7:30am – 3:00pm
Overtime: Saturday and Sunday at time and a half
Metro Plumb is a national plumbing business with more than 40 local depots across the UK, providing a wide range of plumbing services from emergency repairs to boiler replacement. The role is based at high‑tiered security sites, primarily in Durham and the North East.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electrical systems within high security sites such as MOD sites, Police stations, Border Force locations, Government buildings, Prisons, and Defence capability sites.
- Perform planned preventive maintenance works.
- Install wiring and electrical components, including switches and lights.
- Conduct testing and inspection.
- Diagnose and fix electrical problems.
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards and complies with current regulations.
Qualifications
- Comfortable following strict safeguarding and site access protocols.
- Trustworthy, discreet, and dependable.
- Experience working on commercial maintenance projects.
- Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018; Level 3 qualification.
- Clean criminal record and no CCJ’s or black marks on a credit report.
- JIB/ECS certification.
- Must pass a DBS check.
- 17th/18th Edition certification.
- 2391 Testing and Inspecting or equivalent certification.
- Full UK driving licence; able to commute to Durham daily.
