Metro Plumb is a national plumbing business with more than 40 local depots across the UK. Our teams of professional plumbers solve a variety of plumbing issues, from emergency repairs and stopping leaks to fixing broken boilers and replacing dripping taps.
Location: Middleborough – high tiered security sites
Employment Details:
- Permanent
- Salary – £36,000 – £40,000 + benefits & overtime
- Core hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; Fridays 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Overtime: Saturday and Sunday at time and a half
About the Company: Metro Plumb is part of Metro Rod, which has led the way in drainage solutions for over 40 years, and belongs to Franchise Brands PLC. This gives our customers access to more than 600 drainage, pump, plumbing and FOG engineers, specialist expertise and a one‑point‑of‑contact for all drainage, plumbing, pump and FOG works, as well as a refrigeration seal replacement offering.
Role Overview: We’re on the lookout for a reliable, skilled electrician who is ready to step into a long‑term role they can grow in. This person will be based within high security sites – secure and custodial sites, including justice‑sector and government premises. Therefore a clear credit and criminal history is required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair electrical systems within high security sites such as MOD sites, Police stations, Border Force locations, Government buildings, Prisons, Defence capability sites
- Perform planned preventive maintenance works
- Install wiring and electrical components, such as switches and lights
- Test and inspect systems
- Diagnose and fix problems
- Ensure work is carried out to the highest standards and in line with current regulations
Qualifications:
- Comfortable following strict safeguarding and site access protocols
- Trustworthy, discreet and dependable – working where trust matters most
- Experience on commercial maintenance projects
- Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- Clean criminal record and no CCJ or Black marks on a credit report
- JIB/ECS
- Pass a DBS check
- 17th/18th Edition knowledge
- 2391 Testing and Inspecting or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence – able to commute to Middleborough daily
