Working closely with the news team, video team and social editors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing workflow, research and production schedules to deliver stories and videos to tight deadlines
  • Coordinating with reporters, video producers and editors to ensure content is produced efficiently and on time
  • Editing and commissioning video content, ensuring accuracy, tone and brand alignment
  • Operating the content management system for publication of written and video stories
  • Monitoring analytics across written and video content, adjusting strategy to optimise KPIs and audience growth
  • Producing and overseeing coverage of significant news events, including fast‑turnaround video explainers, live or near‑live clips, and social video formats

We are looking for professionals with the following:

  • Significant newsroom experience, ideally within a fast‑paced digital environment
  • Proven experience working with or commissioning video news content
  • The ability to work under intense deadline pressure, including during breaking news
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including scriptwriting and video briefing
  • Strong knowledge of multiplatform news gathering tools, including video, social and UGC resources
  • A passion for research and for finding the most interesting and visually engaging information
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with reporters, video producers and editors
  • Prior experience managing reporters and/or producers
  • The ability to establish strong production processes across text and video
  • Experience managing breaking news and identifying content that engages and grows a digital audience
  • The ability to direct, develop and maintain the quality and output of rolling, 24‑hour digital news, with video as a key driver of reach and engagement

The above list is not exhaustive and will evolve based on the needs of the business. Out‑of‑hours availability, adaptability and a willingness to respond quickly to the news agenda are essential.
