Position Overview

The role is based at Metro Bank Cambridge on a fixed 6-month contract with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours across 5 days.

Responsibilities

  • Be at the forefront of customer interactions, providing exceptional service and identifying products and services suited to customer needs.
  • Work as part of a team, prioritising tasks against changing customer demand and delivering on store objectives.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail even under pressure.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and non‑regulatory training and changes, maintaining fair and compliant transactions.
  • Build effective customer relationships in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Understand the risks associated with the role and their implications for self and Metro Bank customers.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience in handling customer service queries and operating in an environment with controlled processes is essential; experience in finance or banking is not mandatory.

Training & Development

Employees will receive blended training that includes live team sessions with a trainer, guided study through our online training suite, and on‑the‑job training through observation, buddying and serving customers. Training will be paced between you and your manager.

Working Hours

Monday‑Friday store operating 8:45 am‑5:15 pm or 9:00 am‑5:30 pm. Reasonable request for Saturday work may apply, with a day off in the week and eligible travel expense. The role is a full‑time position of 37.5 hours across 5 days.
