Responsibilities
- Support both the ABL Business Development and Relationship Management teams, enabling the ABL/invoice finance business to win new business and support existing customers.
- Attend meetings with ABL Business Development Directors (BDDs) to understand new business and help them progress opportunities through the pipeline.
- Provide back‑office support to the BDDs on opportunities, including tasks such as:
- Reviewing searches for any credit or business risk, including financial crime
- Assisting in the write‑up of AFCs (Credit papers), for new and existing customers
- Completing CRGA (risk weighting tool)
- Completing the CRA (Customer Risk Assessment)
- Reviewing and analysing financial statements
- Managing the take‑on process after successful credit sanction, including completing the Take‑On Checklist (TOCL), coordinating with any outgoing invoice financier, scheduling the transfer, updating the pipeline, and liaising with relevant stakeholders
- Assist ABL Relationship Directors by supporting them with aspects such as:
- Existing customer facility increases
- Reviewing and processing BBC (Borrowing Base Certificate)
- Analyzing financial information
- Covenant monitoring
- Meeting with customers
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including credit, business development, relationship management, senior leadership, and business support teams.
Qualifications & Skills
- Existing knowledge of Invoice Finance or Asset‑Based Lending.
- Previous experience in a similar role managing high volumes of work and workloads.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills across a wide range of stakeholders at various levels.
- Exceptional customer service skills with direct customer interaction.
- Strong eye for detail, especially regarding data protection and AML regulation.
- Inquiring mindset with an understanding of balance sheets, P&L, and cashflows.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively, handling critical tasks across applications and customers.
- Strong diary management skills.
- Aware of the risks associated with the role and their implications for Metro Bank and all stakeholders.
