Overview

Customer Service Advisor – Slough. As a Customer Service Advisor, you will interact with our customers as the voice of Metro Bank, with a strong understanding of our processes, systems, products, and services and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fantastic service and support to our customers over the phone
  • Be a representative of the Metro Bank brand and its culture
  • Advise customers on all types of queries such as balance enquiries, payments, internet banking, card management, and using our mobile app
  • Update all systems, ensuring strong attention to detail and record all conversations
  • Follow correct processes to keep customers safe
  • Be a valued member of the team
  • Understand the risks associated with the role and be able to call out any concerns

Qualifications

  • Ability to build effective customer relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail even under pressure
  • Understand the risks associated with the job and what that means for Metro Bank and stakeholders
  • Proficient in computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience in financial or banking customer service, or experience handling queries in an environment with controlled processes, is essential

Working Arrangements & Training

Full time. Core hours are 9am‑6pm Monday to Friday. Out‑of‑hours coverage 6pm‑8am Monday to Friday, weekends and Bank holidays. Weekend work occurs 1 in every 3 or 4 weekends. Training spans five weeks and includes live trainer sessions, guided online study, and on‑the‑job training such as observing, buddying, and taking calls. Hybrid working is available after training is complete (up to 6 weeks) and sign‑off; team members who work four or more days per week can enjoy two days in office.
