What you will do
- Acting as a key point of contact for financial services regulatory matters, advising on FCA/PRA frameworks, interpreting obligations, and supporting regulatory change initiatives.
- Providing legal advice across business projects and day-to-day operations, with a focus on financial services regulation alongside commercial, corporate, and dispute-related matters.
- Supporting the Bank’s strategy and the effective management of legal and regulatory risk, identifying issues and escalating where appropriate.
- Building strong relationships across Legal, Compliance, Risk and the wider business, while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative legal team.
- Delivering training and horizon scanning on legal and regulatory developments, and supporting engagement with external advisers, industry bodies and regulators.
What you will need
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) with at least 5 years post qualification experience.
- Have trained and qualified in private practice at a “top 50” law firm (or equivalent), and/or gained post-qualification experience in such an environment.
- Have significant experience in the financial services sector, with a strong focus on financial services regulatory law and practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply FCA/PRA regulatory requirements in a practical, commercially focused way.
- Have the flexibility and capability to support a range of broader legal disciplines, including commercial contracts, corporate matters, and litigation.
