What you will do:
- Develop, implement and deliver an overall strategy for the ABL aspect of the IF business that is aligned to the overall strategy of IF and the Bank.
- Work closely with the Corporate Bank to deliver a consistent, joined up solution to prospective and existing customers.
- Motivate and coach the ABL team to generate opportunities and work closely with them to deliver amazing service and outcomes through our Metro Bank values.
- Generate new business via existing bank customers and prospective customers via direct approaches and introducers (within the bank and externally), to achieve your annual core objectives.
- Line management, business development, deal structuring, and pipeline management.
- Build relationships with other departments such as Credit, Business Support and Relationship Management is key, as well as being an active member of the IF Senior Leadership Team.
- Make recommendations to support Metro Bank’s business objectives whilst reinforcing the correct operational processes, ensuring we get things right first time for the customer.
- Manage risk in your area by working with the Commercial Credit Underwriting team to ensure the right risk balance is struck to allow the business to grow through the acquisition and retention of customers that fit our credit appetite.
- Lead by example and set the tone as an advocate of Metro Bank and everything we stand for when dealing with customers, intermediaries and colleagues.

What you will need:
- Extensive knowledge of the UK IF and ABL industry and market.
- Good knowledge of the wider Commercial Finance market place and of the full range of working capital products as well as the type of Introducer network required for ABL and transactional opportunities.
- Banking or independent lender background and ideally have held a role(s) within ABL sales, or ABL relationship management.
- Ability to maximise relationships with new and existing introducers to ensure they are cemented, developed and grown.
- Excellent and proven business development and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of invoice finance, asset based lending and traditional banking products such as overdrafts, business accounts and term loans.
- Inquiring mindset, with an understanding of a P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflows.
