What you will do:

  1. Support the Head of Real Estate in being Metro Bank’s external face to the property market building our brand reputation in this key market place.
  2. Lead by example and develop the team to ensure high performance, professional growth and alignment with team values and goals.
  3. Manage workflow and performance of the team, ensuring timely compliance of all credit and operational risk tasks.
  4. Deliver on lending and other objectives, responding to internal risk challenges, external market challenges, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Manage an active portfolio of Real Estate customers and growing the bank with the acquisition of new customers.
  6. Manage all aspects of Risk, including Credit, Operational and Regulatory.
  7. Liaise with other internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies and reporting set and managed within appetites.

What you will need:

  1. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
  2. Proven track record of relationship management skills and specialist sector knowledge within commercial/corporate Real Estate Finance environments.
  3. Excellent credit origination and deal structuring skills, with a track record of lending to larger and more complex Real Estate Finance customers with the commercial and corporate space.
  4. In depth knowledge of commercial banking, property investment and development lending with general wider commercial banking and product knowledge.
  5. Experienced in credit writing, financial analysis and report writing for customers with complex needs.
  6. Strong understanding of Financial Crime, AML requirements as well as TCF, conduct and consumer duty expectations and managing/ operating within, risk / regulatory and operational frameworks.
  7. Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to interact and influence senior/executive management internally and externally.
