Are you looking to kickstart your career in mobile communications with a role that combines cutting-edge technology, hands-on learning and the chance to travel across the UK? We’re looking for a hardworking and motivated Graduate Test and Measurement Engineer who is ready to roll up their sleeves, solve problems and gain unrivalled industry experience in both the field and office environments to help test and measure mobile network connectivity across the UK. This is not your typical desk job! One day you could be testing mobile coverage in city centres, the next you might be travelling to a rural area for a festival or driving along pre-planned routes with state-of-the-art equipment. This work is highly customer-driven so you’ll need to be flexible and open to change. Some unsociable hours may occasionally be necessary with night shifts and weekends depending on project requirements, and when not out in the field, you’ll be based at our Horsham Office to analyse results and plan test activities. If you’ve got the can-do attitude we’re looking for, you’ll be supported with full training, mentorship and the opportunity to build a career in a fast-moving and high-demand industry.
You will have the opportunity to move across customer projects and gain experience and expertise across different radio planning, optimisation and performance monitoring projects. You will gain mobile communications network management experience with technology transfer and guidance working with our skilled engineering and IT teams. You will work with our latest technology cloud solutions, which manage high-capacity live 4G5G networks across the UK and overseas countries.
What you’ll be doing:
- Learning to set up and operate mobile network test equipment to capture accurate network performance data.
- Travelling nationwide to carry out drive testing, walking tests, and testing in buildings.
- Working on Railway and Mass Transit Systems (with specialist safety training provided).
- Taking part in projects that sometimes require night-time testing for the most accurate results.
- Developing practical skills in troubleshooting and maintaining advanced measurement systems.
- Keeping equipment calibrated and reliable for high-quality results.
- Exploring new testing technologies and methodologies, helping shape the future of mobile network performance.
About you:
- Excited to learn and keen to develop hands-on technical expertise.
- Flexible, adaptable, and open to working unsociable hours when required.
- Happy to travel regularly across the UK, often to new places and environments.
- A strong problem solver with a positive, can-do attitude who thrives on challenges.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to carry a 10kg backpack on testing routes for several hours.
- Able to pass a medical examination.
- Full UK Driving licence (Max 6 points).
- 21 years old + for car insurance purposes.
- A recent graduate in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related subject.
Desirable:
- Residence in the UK for 5 years plus, so eligible to apply for SC clearance if required.
- Experience with mobile networks, telecoms or Radio Frequency (RF) testing and operations.
Benefits:
- Additional day off for your Birthday.
- 2 days volunteering leave.
- 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays).
- Full office closure between Christmas and New Year.
- Refer a Friend Scheme.
- Incentive Scheme.
Following your successful probationary period:
- Private Health Care (including hearing, sight and dental).
- Bike2Work Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
- Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
- Interest-Free Season Ticket Loan.
We also have an onsite gym, showers and games room, prayer / quiet room, regular social events, charity and fundraising events, and free onsite parking at our Horsham office.
