The Role
As a Data Science Manager – AI Consulting, you will lead data science and AI engagements across customer experience, marketing analytics, commercial insight and digital transformation. You will manage a team of around 10 to 15 consultants, setting technical direction while remaining close to complex project delivery. You will shape how machine learning, Generative AI and Large Language Models are designed, assessed and applied to real business challenges. This is a client-facing consulting role with responsibility for delivery quality, team development, commercial proposals and senior stakeholder influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data science and AI consulting programmes from strategy to production.
- Design and evaluate LLM-driven customer and commercial solutions.
- Set technical standards across analytics, AI and Generative AI delivery.
- Manage, coach and develop high-performing data science consultants.
- Translate complex data into clear, decision-ready business insight.
- Shape proposals, costings and statements of work for client engagements.
Requirements
Must-Have
- Proven experience in data science, machine learning and Generative AI.
- Practical experience developing or evaluating Large Language Models.
- Leadership experience across data science projects and practitioners.
- Client-facing consulting experience with commercial accountability.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in customer, marketing, commercial or product analytics.
- Exposure to retail, CPG, telecoms, utilities or energy.
- Cloud AI experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
