Metric have partnered with a leading quantum technology company developing next-generation computing systems. They’re hiring a Quantum Software Engineer to turn cutting-edge quantum research into practical, executable software.

Location - London, UK (Hybrid or Remote)

You’ll design and implement quantum algorithms across simulation, optimisation, and hybrid quantum-classical workflows, working closely with hardware and compiler teams to ensure efficient performance on real devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and optimise quantum algorithms and applications
  • Build scalable, production-grade quantum software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, research, engineering)
  • Deploy and improve software on cloud-based platforms
  • Support users and contribute to technical projects

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Strong Python and software engineering skills
  • Experience with quantum frameworks (e.g. Cirq, Qiskit)
  • Ability to work in collaborative, fast-paced environments

DESIRABLE:

  • PhD in a related field
