We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager to lead the delivery of bids and proposals across the UK and Europe. The role involves managing end-to-end bid activity for allocated opportunities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring high quality, compliant submissions are delivered on time. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across bids of varying size and complexity, balancing pace with structure, and operating confidently in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end bid delivery for allocated opportunities, from qualification through to submission, in line with our bid framework.
  • Plan and coordinate bid schedules, reviews, and inputs to ensure timely, well governed, delivery.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary bid teams, working with finance, legal, commercial, and technical stakeholders.
  • Support capture activity by helping to shape win strategies, capture plans, and probability of win improvement.
  • Ensure submissions are compliant, clearly structured, and tailored to customer requirements.
  • Work with Market Development to apply consistent bid/no bid discipline and support effective use of resources.
  • Capture lessons learned and feedback to support continuous improvement of bid delivery practices and content.
  • Actively contribute to the bid library by uploading and applying content, templates, and proposal tools (including AI enabled tools where available).
  • Support ongoing opportunity awareness by monitoring relevant frameworks and portals and sharing early insights as appropriate.
  • Support preparation of pipeline reporting packs by chasing inputs, maintaining data quality, and highlighting risks or gaps ahead of reviews.

Skills And Experience

  • Typically 2+ years' experience managing bids and proposals, ideally within defence, aerospace, government, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, including both complex and fast turnaround submissions.
  • Familiarity with structured bid or capture methodologies (e.g. Shipley or equivalent).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Confident stakeholder management and clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce persuasive, high quality bid content.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience working with cost inputs and pricing information.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset, with experience capturing and applying post bid learning.
  • Experience working with protectively marked or sensitive information is desirable.
  • APMP Certification (or working towards) is desirable.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Work Location

Hybrid / London office 3 days per week.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting.
