We are seeking a highly skilled Unmanned Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our initiatives in all varieties of unmanned systems across all operational domains (aerial, ground, maritime, etc). The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, operational experience, and strategic insight to help develop, test, and implement advanced UAx solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expertise on UAx technologies, capabilities, and operational application.
  • Support ideation and prototyping efforts by advising on system design, architecture, and integration.
  • Conduct technical analysis and assessments to identify gaps, opportunities, and solutions in UAx technology.
  • Collaborate across Metrea internal organizations with teammates of different disciplines and functions, including engineers, developers, and operators, to refine requirements and drive innovation.
  • Assist in testing, evaluation, and validation of UAx platforms and associated technologies.
  • Develop white papers, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, threats, and advancements in UAx markets and corresponding customer segments.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent level of professional/military experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with UAx technologies, autonomous systems, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of unmanned systems (air, land, sea, space), including sensor integration, communications, and control systems.
  • Experience in electromagnetic spectrum operations, cyber warfare, or electronic warfare is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct technical analysis and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
