MetPrep Ltd is a small, successful company specialising in supporting metallurgical, material science and petrographic laboratories in industry and universities. Working in partnership with high-end industry partners including QATM (materials preparation equipment), Zeiss, Motic, CRIAC (microscopy, inspection and analysis solutions) and SciAps (spectrometers for X‑ray & LIBS analysis), we aim to be the first choice for materials testing laboratories throughout the UK.

Following the retirement of a long‑serving colleague and business expansion, we are actively seeking an Area Sales Manager to cover Northern England & Scotland to join our experienced, specialised materials preparation team. Full training will be provided both at our UK facility and/or at our associated partners' facilities in Europe. Our head office in Coventry includes a demonstration area in which core items from our product range may be viewed and demonstrated; this facility also houses our service workshop, warehousing and sales offices.

Qualifications / experience

The individual should be a UK resident, ideally living centrally within their sales territory, with a full UK passport and clean driving licence. Your time will be split between customer sites, home office and the Coventry head office. Desirable skills are experience of metallographic/material/petrographic sample preparation, microscopy and hardness testing etc., along with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office & CRM software products.

MetPrep values experience equally with formal qualifications, along with a flexible work approach, good communication skills and a genuine desire to provide the best possible service for our customers, partners & co‑workers.

Remuneration

We offer a relaxed, flexible working environment without unnecessary overburdening of reporting, time management etc. A successful individual can expect a better than average salary, yearly bonus – based on effort, choice of car, pension, 4½ day working week & 25 days annual leave.
