We are currently seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join our UK team, within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals. This is a UK-wide search, and we welcome applications from suitable candidates based across the country. The role will support the construction execution of HVDC projects, contributing to delivery in line with project objectives, contractual requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, budget, and schedule.

Your role will include:

  • Oversee mechanical construction activities on-site, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to support the planning and execution of mechanical installations.
  • Perform regular inspections and quality checks to ensure work is carried out in line with industry standards.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues arising during construction, supporting timely solutions to avoid delays.
  • Collaborate with the design team during the pre-construction phase, providing input on mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mechanical works performed on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture across site activities.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSc considered an advantage).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical erection works or maintenance, preferably within heavy industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, CCGT, HVAC, or broader energy projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and civil construction drawings, procedures, and specifications.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural project teams.
