- Project Planner to support our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom
. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects and shaping best-in-class project controls across a growing portfolio.
This position will report to the Project Controls Manager, to support the Project Delivery and Construction teams in developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules across the full EPC lifecycle, ensuring successful and timely delivery of renewable energy projects.
Your role will encompass
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6 across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
- Establish baseline programmes and perform critical path analysis, float management, and schedule validation.
- Conduct scenario and “what-if” analyses to assess programme risks and identify mitigation strategies with key stakeholders.
- Lead project controls activities across multiple projects, including progress tracking, forecasting, and portfolio reporting.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports including narratives, KPIs, S-curves, milestone tracking, and executive dashboards for internal and client reporting.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Cost Controllers to align programme, cost, and resource planning.
- Review and integrate subcontractor schedules and WBS structures into the master programme.
- Monitor performance against baseline schedules, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain key milestones such as Energisation and COD.
- Support tender and contract award phases by developing high-level and detailed schedules and contributing to bid evaluations.
- Maintain structured records of schedule updates, changes, and impacts to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
- Assist in resource planning and optimisation to support project delivery targets.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in project planning or project controls within construction or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with MS Project; Primavera P6 experience is advantageous.
- Proven experience in schedule validation, scenario analysis, and progress reporting.
- Good understanding of EPC project lifecycle and construction sequencing.
- Experience developing S-curves, dashboards, and performance reports (Excel / MS Project / P6).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects (Solar PV, BESS) is preferred.
