We are currently looking for a Site Civil Engineer to join our UK team within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals, supporting the construction of the Progress Power Plant OCGT Project based at Eye Airfield, Suffolk. Your role will encompass:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily civil works activities on site, including subcontractor management
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with project schedule, budget, and quality requirements
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Monitor and enforce site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Carry out site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design and standards
  • Track progress and report on delays, risks, and issues to the Senior Site Engineer / Project Management team
  • Support setting-out activities and verification of works where required
  • Assist in resolving technical issues arising during construction
  • Liaise closely with the site QA/QC personnel and assist in closing out NCR’s and punch items as required
  • Ensure red line drawings are completed for any works to be undertaken going forward
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Site manager and or the Construction manager

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2–4 years’ experience in construction projects, preferably within energy, infrastructure, or industrial environments
  • Experience working on-site and coordinating subcontractors
  • Good understanding of civil construction processes and site execution
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to be site-based in Eye Airfield, Suffolk
