We are seeking a Grid Engineering Manager to act as the technical authority for UK grid connection engineering across our renewable and energy storage portfolio. This role provides leadership on engineering governance, design assurance, and compliance with UK grid standards, supporting the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as technical authority for UK grid connection engineering
  • Ensure compliance with ENA G81, G99/G100, DNO/IDNO and NGESO requirements
  • Lead design assurance and approval of LV/MV/HV grid connection solutions
  • Oversee engineering outputs including SLDs, protection schemes, earthing and cable design
  • Manage G99 applications and interface with DNOs, IDNOs and National Grid
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, ensuring capability growth and high performance
  • Support project delivery across tendering, design, construction and commissioning
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with clients, network operators, and delivery partners
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Extensive experience within a UK ICP, DNO, IDNO or consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of UK grid standards and connection processes
  • Proven delivery of LV/MV/HV grid connection projects (11kV–400kV)
  • Experience leading engineering or design teams
