Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a Civil Site Engineer to support our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to work on large-scale Solar and BESS projects and help deliver the UK’s clean energy future.

Your role will encompass:

  • Supervise earthworks, excavations, grading, drainage, trenching, foundations, and concrete works
  • Verify subcontractor works for compliance with design tolerances, compaction requirements, levels, and quality standards
  • Review and interpret civil drawings, surveys, specifications, and method statements
  • Monitor concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, curing, and quality inspections
  • Coordinate trenching, ducting, and infrastructure interfaces with electrical and mechanical teams
  • Support inspections, testing, and QA/QC activities in line with ITPs and project standards
  • Monitor subcontractor productivity, daily progress, plant utilisation, and installed quantities
  • Identify project delays, risks, weather impacts, and resource shortages, implementing mitigation measures
  • Maintain QA/QC records, inspections, measurements, and site documentation
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, RAMS, excavation safety, lifting operations, reinstatement, snagging, and project handover activities

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience supervising and coordinating civil and infrastructure works within construction and renewable energy projects
  • Experience in subcontractor management and site execution support
  • Proficient in earthworks, drainage, trenching, concrete works, compaction, and testing procedures
  • Experience with QA/QC inspections, site documentation, and quality standards compliance
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, surveys, specifications, and method statements
  • Strong understanding of Temporary Works procedures, RAMS, and site safety controls
  • Strong site coordination, progress reporting, and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills within multidisciplinary teams and under site pressure
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and strong commitment to quality, safety, and project delivery
