We are currently seeking a Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in the UK supporting the commissioning phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as transformers, medium and low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, etc.
  • Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols.
  • Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.
  • Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
  • Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorization / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.
  • Authorised for planning and executing LV isolations.
  • Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors.
  • Lead a team of Electrical technicians and co-ordinate their activities.
  • Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
  • Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.
  • Report to the Lead Electrical Engineer and the Commissioning Manager.

What you bring to the role:

  • Diploma in Electrical engineering.
  • At least 5-7 years working experience in power stations and/or HV Substation Electrical Commissioning activities with demonstrable experience.
  • Strong team spirit, working with an international team and other cultures.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
