We are currently looking for a Senior Site Engineer – Civil to join our UK team, within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals. This is a UK-wide search, and we welcome applications from suitable candidates based across the country.
About the role
This is a key on-site role where you’ll take ownership of civil works delivery on major energy projects. As a Senior Site Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of construction activity—coordinating teams, ensuring quality and safety standards, and driving progress on critical infrastructure that supports the energy transition.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontractors on site
- Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Review and interpret construction drawings and technical plans
- Enforce site safety procedures and promote a strong HSE culture
- Carry out inspections and quality control checks
- Report progress, risks, and issues to project management
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 6+ years’ experience in construction, ideally within energy or industrial projects
- Proven experience supervising subcontractors on site
- Strong understanding of construction processes and site coordination
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
