We are currently looking for a Head of Asset Rotation – West Europe to lead the West Europe regional Asset Rotation activities for solar, BESS and hybrid assets across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Germany, focusing on projects in late stage or under COD.
Reporting to the West Europe Regional Managing Director, Central Asset Rotation Function.
Position Overview
The position is execution-driven, with its primary focus on leading the negotiation of the SPA and all transaction agreements, and managing:
- Teaser and transaction-material preparation
- Full sell-down execution
- Coordination across EPC, Development, Finance, Legal and Strategy
- Transaction closing
- Post-sale transition arrangements
Responsibilities
- Asset Rotation Execution (Primary Focus: Transaction Documentation & Negotiation)
- Lead the negotiation of all key transaction agreements, including SPA and ancillary documents, in close coordination with Legal and the Central Asset Rotation Function.
- Set deal negotiation strategy, manage redlines, coordinate internal approvals and maintain overall control of documentation.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of teasers, process summaries and all investor-facing transaction materials.
- Build and manage the overall deal execution plan (timeline, responsibilities, critical path).
- Coordinate data-room preparation, population and investor Q&A.
- Coordinate all due-diligence workstreams: technical, legal, financial, land, grid, tax and ESG to ensure full transaction-ready documentation.
- Transaction Management & Closing
- Manage all conditions precedent, completion accounts and funds-flow mechanics.
- Ensure smooth and timely closing aligned with deal timelines.
- Oversee post-deal handover, transition obligations and buyer interface.
- Maintain structured risk tracking and provide clear reporting to senior management.
- Internal Leadership & Coordination
- Work with Development to ensure all land, grid and permitting requirements are complete and fully documented.
- Coordinate with EPC to align commercial close with construction progress, commissioning, testing and H&S deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Strategy department on investor requirements, messaging and transaction positioning.
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Tax and ESG teams on all relevant transaction elements.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5–8 years in renewable energy M&A, project finance, transactions or infrastructure investment.
- Proven experience leading SPA negotiations for late-stage or operational renewable energy assets.
- Strong understanding of EPC interfaces, commissioning milestones and solar/BESS risk allocation.
- Familiarity with UK and European regulatory frameworks for solar and storage.
- Strong negotiation skills, especially on SPA and CP management; high execution discipline and ability to run multiple transactions in parallel.
- Excellent cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management.
- Clear, structured communication and reporting.
- High ownership, detail orientation and strong problem-solving mindset.
