MetisPeople are currently supporting a major infrastructure and utilities programme in the search for an experienced Project Controls Manager to support the development and delivery of a multi-billion-pound strategic investment programme. This is a high-profile opportunity to join a major programme environment at a critical stage of development, working across large-scale infrastructure projects that will play a key role in future resilience and long-term regional investment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and leading project controls capability across the programme, supporting senior leadership teams in driving best practice, governance, reporting and performance management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and develop project controls processes, procedures and governance frameworks
  • Lead programme and project performance reporting
  • Integrate planning, scheduling, cost management and risk functions
  • Support forecasting, monitoring and change management activities
  • Provide project controls guidance to programme leadership and delivery teams
  • Develop integrated reporting and performance measurement approaches
  • Work closely with PMO, commercial, planning and risk functions
  • Identify programme risks and performance challenges proactively
  • Support continuous improvement and implementation of best practice controls methodologies
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within Project Controls on major infrastructure or capital programmes
  • Strong background operating within PMO, EPC or major programme environments
  • Proven experience across planning, cost, risk and reporting functions
  • Strong knowledge of project controls best practice and governance
  • Experience using Primavera P6 and associated project controls systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse project performance data and provide clear reporting insight
  • Experience developing and implementing reporting processes and controls frameworks
Desirable Experience:
  • Water, utilities or regulated infrastructure sector experience
  • Experience working within complex commercial or contractual environments
  • Exposure to large-scale infrastructure delivery programmes
