I am working with a leading global investment bank looking to add an Associate to their EMEA M&A Energy (Oil & Gas) team in London.
The platform is widely regarded for delivering high-impact strategic advisory across complex domestic and cross-border transactions, advising corporates, entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors across a broad range of sectors. The team partners closely with industry coverage groups to provide integrated, senior-led advice on some of the market’s most high-profile mandates.
This is an opportunity to join a highly analytical, collaborative sector team known for its rigorous approach, strong commercial judgment, and meaningful responsibility at Associate level. The environment is entrepreneurial and meritocratic, with direct exposure to senior bankers and clients from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Integral role in the execution of UK and European M&A transactions across the Oil and Gas space
- Lead financial analysis and valuation workstreams including DCF, comparable company and precedent transaction analysis
- Prepare high-quality client presentations and materials for internal valuation and approval processes
- Coordinate deal execution processes, including documentation and stakeholder management
- Work on public and private M&A transactions, including bid defence situations
- Review and oversee analysts’ financial models and materials, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Engage directly with senior bankers and clients throughout live mandates
- 3+ years of investment banking experience in M&A from a Bulge Bracket or Mid Market investment bank with strong transaction experience
- Strong financial modelling and valuation expertise
- Experience working on UK and European transactions
- Up-Stream Oil and Gas experience is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong project management and multitasking capabilityHigh academic achievement and a strong analytical mindset
