Metis is looking to fill a Highways and Transportation Engineer role to provide technical support on our maintenance and asset renewal schemes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Metis has an exciting pipeline of highways and asset renewal schemes, and a growing highways and transportation team. To ensure these commissions are delivered to the highest standards, we are looking for an experienced Highways and Transportation Engineer to assist with technical leadership and project delivery. This role will work within our highways and transportation team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for production, review and submission of our asset renewal and maintenance projects. They will also support the development of detailed designs across the team. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering asset renewal and maintenance schemes within the UK. They will provide quality design outputs, focus on health and safety, and consider sustainability in their day-to-day duties. They will be a team player and committed to supporting the development of graduate engineers.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Production, review and submission of asset renewal and maintenance projects including carriageways, footways, VRS and drainage remedial works.
- CDM 2015 responsibilities
- Delivery on asset renewal and maintenance schemes
- Pipeline and project management
- Client and stakeholder management
- Support the technical leadership of engineering projects
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Two to five years’ experience in asset renewal and maintenance schemes
- Competency with CAD
- Knowledge of material and contract specifications
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Capacity to manage multiple projects
- Experience in supporting junior team members, helping them to produce exceptional outputs
- Ability to integrate into a team and consult with clients and stakeholders
- Proven track record in delivering projects on time and on budget
