At Metica, we let game studios focus on making great games – while we take care of growing them. We're an AI-native growth partner for mobile games studios, unifying user acquisition and in-game monetisation so games grow without studios having to build that expertise in-house.
The Role
We are looking for a senior mobile engineer to build and evolve the SDK that ships inside our customers' games. This is SDK work, not app work: your code runs inside someone else's product, so binary size, startup cost, thread safety, and backward compatibility are the job, not afterthoughts. You will own what you build end to end, from API design through release and live integration support. Based in-office (hybrid model) in London or Ljubljana, Slovenia.
You Will
- Build and maintain our mobile SDK on Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift)
- Own the public API surface: minimal, stable across versions, and hard to misuse
- Keep the SDK lightweight and resilient, with no crashes in host apps and graceful degradation when the backend is unreachable
- Own releases, versioning, and distribution (Maven Central, SwiftPM, CocoaPods)
- Support customer integrations and investigate issues inside live production games
- Work with backend and data teams to shape the client-server contract
You Need
- Senior experience shipping production mobile code on Android or iOS at scale
- Experience building an SDK or library consumed by other developers, not only apps
- Comfort debugging inside code you do not own, from crash reports, ANRs and partial customer reports, often without a reproducible case
- Experience making networking and local storage survive flaky mobile connections: batching, retries, offline queueing, persistence
- A test-first habit, since we do not write production code without a failing test first
- Someone who gets real leverage out of the latest LLM tooling. It is central to how we work, and we expect you to use it well rather than tolerate it.
A strong plus, and the fastest way to ramp up here: Unity experience, since most of our customers integrate through our Unity package.
Previous work on a mobile ads SDK, especially AppLovin MAX, and knowledge of the mediation stack: waterfalls, bid floors, fill rate, eCPM, ad lifecycle and expiration.
